This morning, enjoy breakfast at your hotel before meeting our expert local guide for a tour of fascinating Stone Town, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Over the centuries, many cultures have left their mark on Zanzibar, and nowhere is this more evident than in Stone Town. Your guide will first take you to the colorful market, buzzing with bartering locals and filled with exotic scents.

Next, visit the peaceful 19th-century cathedral, built on the site of the former slave market after the abolition of slavery in 1873. As you wander the narrow streets and alleys, you’ll pass Arab houses with inner courtyards, hidden behind heavy doors. You can compare these with the Indian-style residences, featuring ornate balustrades and metal railings.

Among the town’s historic landmarks are the ‘Tip Tip House,’ the Old Fort, and the People’s Palace Museum. Lunch will be served at the Silk Route, an Indian rooftop restaurant offering ocean views. The Silk Route exudes character, so enjoy the excellent cuisine, perhaps accompanied by a cocktail. After the tour, we will transfer you to your chosen beach hotel for dinner, an evening at leisure, and the remainder of your stay.

After breakfast, you can enjoy the morning at your leisure. Your Stone Town hotel will provide you with an early lunch before we transfer you to your chosen beach hotel for the next part of your stay in exotic, enticing Zanzibar. After the delightful chaos of Stone Town, it’s time to relax and enjoy some real downtime.

Today, you are free to do exactly what you want—and as little as you want. After all, you can simply relax by your hotel pool or on the beach, perhaps under a swaying palm tree. If a day of complete inactivity isn’t your style, you can swim or take advantage of one of the activities offered by your hotel’s reception.

After breakfast at your hotel, we will transfer you to Abeid Amani Karume International Airport for your onward flight. If you have a later departure, we will arrange for you to have lunch before you leave the hotel.
