Your day begins with a morning pickup from your hotel in Moshi, followed by a scenic 1-hour drive to the Kilimanjaro National Park’s Marangu Gate (1,860m). After completing registration at the gate, your trek will begin, leading you through the lush rainforest of Kilimanjaro. As you hike, keep an eye out for the fascinating wildlife, including black-and-white colobus monkeys, blue monkeys, and a variety of bird species. Your knowledgeable, English-speaking guide will share interesting facts about Kilimanjaro’s ecosystem, pointing out the diverse plants and animals along the way.

During the hike, you’ll likely meet mountain climbers descending from the summit, who may share stories of their adventures, inspiring you to dream of your own summit attempt one day. After a 3-4 hour trek, you’ll reach Mandara Hut (2,700m), where you’ll take a well-deserved break and enjoy lunch. From here, your guide will lead you on a short, 15-minute hike to Maundi Crater, offering stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro, northern Tanzania, and even into Kenya.

Once you’ve taken in the breathtaking scenery, you’ll begin your descent back to Marangu Gate, a 2-3 hour walk. Your vehicle will be waiting to transfer you back to your hotel, and you can relax on the ride back while enjoying the sunset and reflecting on the day’s adventure.

This is a private tour, meaning the group will consist only of those you choose to travel with. For children, we offer the following discounts: one child under 5 years receives a 100% discount (additional children under 5 receive a 50% discount), and children aged 5-12 receive a 50% discount. Children with a 100% discount are not included in the total number of travelers. Discounts are limited to two children per trip, but if your group includes more children (up to 12 years), we’re happy to provide a tailored offer.

Payments can be made in USD or Tanzanian Shillings (TZS) on the day of the tour. Please note that USD bills minted in 2006 or earlier will not be accepted.
